The Seiko Prospex King Sumo PADI SPB325J1 is one of Seiko's many iconic diving watches that have garnered enough enthusiasm to be warranted a nickname. The SPB325J1 has a substantial wrist presence with its 45mm diameter, while also having a very reasonable 52.6mm lug to lug distance. This ensures it will also fit a smaller wrist than you'd expect, especially with the clever crown placement at 4 o'clock.
This latest iteration has several very nice upgrades, such as a sapphire crystal protecting the stunning dial and a ceramic bezel. Under the hood is the Seiko Cal. 6R35, which features a formidable 70 hour power reserve.
Of course the watch is also very capable of dealing with water, due to the 200m water resistance, LumiBrite lume and the very legible design.
This model is part of the 'PADI' line, that Seiko produces in collaboration with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. The details show in the PADI world logo in the dial, alongside the distinctive name on the bottom half of the dial.
Within the realm of diving watches the King Sumo offers a unique proposition, while also taking the practical aspects into account.
